**Widgets**

Widgets are pieces of content that sit in areas outside the main page content, such as a sidebar or footer.

**Not seeing your change?**

Your browser may be showing a copy it saved earlier. Open the page in a private window, or press Ctrl + F5 to reload it fresh (Cmd + Shift + R on a Mac).

If your site has a caching plugin, clear its cache too. There is usually a button for it in the bar along the top of the dashboard. Still the old version after a few minutes? Ask whoever looks after your site to clear the server cache.

Widgets are pieces of content that sit in areas outside the main page content, such as a sidebar or footer. Use them to show things like contact details or recent posts across many pages at once.

Which widget areas you have, and where they appear, depends on your theme. Some themes use the newer block-based widget editor and others keep the classic screen, so yours may look different. A change made here usually shows on every page that uses that area.
